With that in mind, we are pleased to provide you with Business Travel Accident (BTA) insurance from an AIG member company. With this coverage, you have access to AIG’s business travel insurance plan in the event you experience any travel inconveniences, security issues or medical emergencies while traveling anywhere in the world.

As part of this coverage, you are also provided with travel assistance services from AIG Travel Services available to you include:

  • Travel Security Assistance

  • Concierge Services

  • Travel Medical Assistance

Benefits are payable up to the maximum amounts shown above if the Insured Person suffers a covered medical emergency during the course of a covered trip. Coverage is provided for the treatment of a covered illness related to COVID-19 subject to the same policy terms and conditions as any other covered illness. All charges incurred must be medically necessary and authorized in advance by the Insuring Company or its agent, Travel Guard Group, Inc. (Travel Guard).

This policy also includes accidental death and dismemberment benefits.

How much do I pay for this insurance?

Nothing. AURA pays the full cost of the coverage.

Who is covered under this insurance?

All active Employees of the Policyholder domiciled in the United States and guests of the policy holder.  This coverage applies to those that have been approved for official AURA business travel.

Am I covered if I attend a professional meeting?

Yes, approved AURA business travel is covered under the BTA policy.

How do I enroll in this plan?

Enrollment is automatic for employees.

How do I obtain a written verification of coverage letter for my international travel?

If I have to cancel/reschedule my trip because I have an illness related to COVID, will my trip cancellation/rescheduling fees.

No, this policy does not cover those fees.

How do I access benefits while I am traveling or prior to my departure?

In the event I am unable to return home due to COVID and I am required to quarantine is there a benefit to provide quarantine coverage?

This BTA policy provides $200/day for hotel.  For approved AURA business travel, AURA CAS will coordinate with the Center business/administrative manager to provide an account number for hotel and/or per diem costs that are not covered by the BTA policy.
